Finch Street, Malvern Victoria
Victorian Period Home Charm..
Built over 100 years ago by craftsmen, the new extension walls were straightened, thermal wrap paper covered, weatherboard cladding installed and matched into the original home creating a sense of originality.
A custom quick timber scaffold assisted the installation of wall cladding, eave Pine lining board and caulking the weatherboard / window reveal / door jamb gap for sealed insulation. Above the window weatherboards feature a pop out offset. Features below are the window / door extended seal, underside quad with return and an architectural to the time custom wall batten.
At all weatherboard joints are painted with an oil based primer and the use of correct galvanised nails will prolong the board lifespan immensely. Under the verandah an original approach was taken into effect using hardwood small width tongue and groove boards directly fixed to the hardwood floor joists and constructed with an internal step maximising the pathway entrance.
